Prof. Miri Barak’s Science and Learning Technologies (SLT) research group examines the cognitive-epistemic and social-institutional dimensions of digital learning, with a particular emphasis on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) ethics education and the cultivation of 21st-century competencies.

This body of work encompasses two principal research domains:
(a) engineering education, focusing on emerging conceptualizations of the Nature of Engineering (NOE) and the fostering of innovation; and
(b) science education, addressing the development of novel pedagogical approaches to GenAI ethics, as well as simulation-based learning and assessment.

These research initiatives are conducted across diverse educational contexts, including higher education, teacher education programs, and school settings.
