Prof. Miri Barak

Dr. Miri Barak is a Professor of Science and Engineering Education at the Faculty of Education in Science and Technology, Technion- Israel Institute of Technology. She is a Cum Laude graduate of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering ‎and worked in the past as an R&D Engineer.
Dr. Barak received her MSc ‎and PhD degrees at the Technion ‎and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Educational Computing Initiatives ‎‎(CECI) at MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US.
‎Currently, Dr. Barak is the Head of the Science and Learning Technologies (SLT) group, which strives to promote 21 century skills and the use of advanced ‎technologies for science and engineering education.
Dr. Barak is leading the design and development of the first online course in Ethics of Research, mandatory to all Technion graduate students. She is also leading international projects on cloud pedagogy and MOOCs - massive online open courses.
Dr. Barak ‎studies examine sociocultural aspects of collaborative learning, ethics in science education and AI, the nature of engineering, and the promotion of flexible and innovative thinking.
